Journalist panel

Lucy Mangan a feature writer and columnist for The Guardian who will be attending the Journalist panel. She will be joined by Journalist Tim Dowling from The Guardian. There will discuss their work in journalism and there be also a question and answers session at the end.

Lucy Mangan was educated in Catford and Cambridge. She spent two years training to be a solicitor, then left the law as soon as she qualified. She took a placement with The Guardian in 2003 and hung around until they gave her a job. She is now a features writer, TV reviewer and weekly columnist for the newspaper. She is the author of the satirical autobiography Hopscotch and Handbags: The Essential Guide to Being a Girl and My Family and Other Disasters, a collection of her columns from The Guardian.


Tim Dowling




Tim Dowling is a features writer and weekly columnist for The Guardian. He is also the author of two books, the novel "The Giles Wareing Haters' Club" and "Suspicious Packages and Extendable Arms", a collection of his writing from The Guardian. Born in the USA, Dowling moved to the UK at the age of 27 and currently lives in London with his wife and three children.
